hyperlink Posted October 30, 2010 Share Posted October 30, 2010 hi i have a ford focus tdci sport 2006 model and i have been told by my dealer that the dpf needs replacing due to being faulty i have been quoted £1300 for this to be done ??? my warranty apparantly does not cover this as they say it is a servicable item at 75000 miles but my warranty says it covers catalysts is this not classes as a catalyst and can someone explain what i have do i have a diesal particulate filter or is this the same as a cat does a diesal car have a cat or both Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
fordpartsman Posted November 8, 2010 Share Posted November 8, 2010 warranty will not cover an item if it is deemed to have been used for its service life, e.g if your discs wear down they wont be covered, but if they warp after 200 miles from the car being new, they will be covered. the diesel particulate filters contain a catalyst within them, but as you say, there service life is 75000 miles short and tall of this, you will be responsible, not ford motor company Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
