Intermittent Wipe

Featured Replies

The intermittent wipe has never worked on our Mk7 1.6tdi

When you move the stalk into it it wipes once and stops.

Adjusting the speed also makes it spring into life for a single wipe, so after a few years of this minor irritation I decided to pull the ***** thing and install a new stalk.

I now know that its not the stalk (so thats going back) however what is next on the to fix list?

The wipers, other than intermittent, work as they should.

Which spec is it?  Just wondering whether you might have auto wipers instead of timed intermittent.

As Tom has already mentioned, it's probably that you have auto wipers and the sensor is not fully bonded to the windscreen

Thanks gents, you may well be onto something there.

Not marked on the boot but it does have the same ICE as my Titanium Focus did and pretty sure its that spec too.

Obviously as its never worked didnt even think along those lines.

I'll try pulling the covers off and see what it looks like behind them.

Thanks again.

Sensor was hanging when I pulled the cover off and the gel pad the consistency of shower gel.

I've pulled it for now so I have at least intermittent wipe until I can get it sorted.
