Exhaust Emission

hi i was wondering if someone could help me i have a 2001 mk3 mondeo zetec and its just failed the mot on exhaust emissons

here is the print out they gave me

fast idle test co min limit ------ max limit 0.300 actual 0.321 fail

hc min limit ------ max limit 200 actual 307 fail

lambda min limit 0.950 max limit 1.090 actual 0.988 pass

second fast idle test

co min limit ------ max limit 0.300 actual 5.011 fail

hc min limit ------ max limit 200 actual 774 fail

lambda min limit 0.950 max limit 1.090 actual 0.842 fail

natural idle test

co min limit ------ max limit 0.500 actual 1.823 fail

has anyone else had this problem? and would no how to fix it? please help

the car has bin sitting for 7 months prior to the mot
