Engine warning ⚠️ (P2125)?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, hope your all ok?

2013 fiesta - 1.25

I am randomly getting an error, and the code is;

P2125-86-28 - Throttle/pedal postion sensor/switch E - Circuit error.

Engine malfunction - spanner light with beeping etc

I did pop in to live data to get a reading from the throttle pedal, and both values work from 0 - 100% when pressing etc.

Trouble is its intermittent, some times it will happen and next ign cycle no warning etc so unsure if its the pedal?

Not had a chance to look into yet but anyone come across this?

Any help would be fantastic please 🙏

Unplug the connector and check for any corrosion on the pins. Not much else to check . My daughter had a fiesta 2013 and suspected throttle pedal fault. That was intermittent . I took connector off, checked the pins ok, refitted , switched ignition  on did full range of movement multiple times in quick succession. Ign off.

Said if the light came back on to come back and would fit a second  hand throttle pedal I bought off eBay and see how it goes. Never played up from that day onwards for next 3-4 years when it got written off by someone who hit it while parked up.
