Fanbelt replacement on 2017 Ecoboost Ford Fiesta

Featured Replies

How do I know when, or if, the fanbelt needs replacing on my 2017 1.0 Ecoboost Fiesta? It's done 62,000 miles and (touch wood!) drives really well. What signs do I need to look out for and what sort of cost will it be if it needs changing?

Do you actually mean the 'Fan' belt which incidentally is now called the auxiliary drive belt, because the fan is electric. Or do you mean the 'Timing belt' which is what people are usually worried about replacing ?

Mine's a 2017 and I had the wet belts changed a few months ago when the car had done 35,000 miles. The timing belt had started to break up and had a tooth missing. My advice would be to get them changed as soon as possible. Incidentally, a new fan belt came as part of the kit.
