Valuation of my festa

Featured Replies

Hi I have a fiesta 2011 titanium model in hot magenta with 193,000 on the clock. In good condition.
Someone recently hit the side of me not a lot of damage. There insurance company has taken full liability and valued my car at valued it £800. I was just wondering if this is a fair price? If anyone can help me, it’ll be much appreciated.

No idea of the value, but from experience, never accept their first offer,  I was offered 1200 for my old mk3 St Tdci, refused the first offer, they then upped it to 1200, then finally once the settlement was drafted up, i got 1800.

The mileage will be the major factor on this one.  I've had a few cars over 150k and none of them have been in 'good condition'.  I don't see how that's possible unless it's had a front end respray at minimum.

The insurance valuation books won't go as high as 193k, so they'll have to make their own adjustment for this car.  Personally I'd say it's worth nearer £1000.  But might not be worth the hassle for extra couple of hundred.  I doubt you'll find another for sale with such high mileage as evidence.

The alternative is to buy it back to repair yourself if the damage really is not a lot.  But I suspect it would cost more to repair than you think.  Very unlikely find panels in Hot Magenta so even used parts would need painting.

Just never accept the first or second offer.

If you want to keep it buy it back

Rear 1/4 panels are the most expensive to repair, you can get used doors, wings and bumpers, but as Tom says, you will need to paint.

Check for similar models on AutoTrader to try for a monetary value and delete your duplicate post if possible?

I could only find 2 2011 Fiestas on AutoTrader anywhere near that mileage - a 162k Zetec 1.25 at £850 and -  a bit closer model - a 170k 1.6 tdci Titanium at £1495. Both trade sales.

You haven't mentioned what engine/gearbox yours is, btw, or how many doors.

Hot Magenta was very nice but very few around now so not much chance of finding s/h panels that colour, as Tom has already said.

What about a Parker's car valuation?

Not only has the OP never returned since making the post, I've only just realised that they posted it twice.
