Automatic Transmission Fluid, Ford Fiesta '09 1.4L Titanium

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Wanted to get some opinions on this as I'm getting mixed results from various mechanics. Hopefully some of you here have had personal experiences doing this.

I've had my nippy little Fiesta since 2020 (at 55,000 miles), she has a 4-Speed Automatic Transmission (4F27E) that is "sealed for life" with now almost 115,000 miles on the clock.

Would it be safe at this point to get the transmission fluid drained and replaced for peace of mind in the long run? I'm worried about potential slipping after. Bear in mind that I haven't noticed any issues with gear shifts since purchase and I do not know if it the ATF has ever been drained and replaced in the past..

Appreciate your inputs!
