Does the 1.7 puma intake manifold fit the 1.6 sigma-SE

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I was looking into a potentially less restrictive inlet manifold option for my 2005 zetec S. i’ve decided on either the inlet manifold from the 1.7 puma or the 1.6 manifold from the mk2 focus (Ti-VCT).

Does anyone know how big the ports are for each engine? or if the inlet manifolds will even fit?

I’ve seen from a different forum that a guy rebuilding his engine took off the head and measured it, and got 47 x 30mm for the intake ports, and everything i can find online kinda indicate that the 1.7 puma has the same size head. (this is weird to me because of the VCT, a smaller head port would surely mean less flow?)

I don’t want to spend loads on headwork for the sake of a fairly affordable inlet manifold without upgrading my cams, but i’m not there yet xD

Will i need to port match the head to make sure the inlet manifold fits?

Thanks in advance!!
