Fiesta parking sensor sounders not working

Featured Replies

The parking sensor sounders on the wifes Fiesta have stopped working. I noticed a few months ago they didn't sound as loud as they did so presumed one of the sounders/buzzers had stopped working but now there is no sound at all. When you put the car into reverse you get an image of the car on the centre console with exclamation marks in front and back of it (See attached picture). There are only rear sensors on the car so guessing it's pointing to an issue with the sounders.

Does anyone know the location of the buzzers and if it's an easy fix. Can you buy 3rd party sounders or do they have to be Ford specific?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I think there's only one sounder on a Mk7. It's in the boot by the wheel arch.

However that picture suggests that the Park Aid Module (PAM) may be faulty rather than just the sounder. Wouldn't you previously get a series of lines showing the distance from the rear?

Hi, yes there used to be lines showing when you got near anything behind the car. WOnder if it could be the module like you suggested. Any idea where this is located or is it all in the boot by the wheel arch?

It's a 64 plate so looks like it a Mk6

Thanks

'64 plate is Mk7 facelift in the UK. Mk6 was 2002-2008. We're one Mk ahead of the rest of the world which can cause confusion.

Yes, I think the PAM is in the boot near the sounder.

Thanks Tom. I will check this out. Really grateful for the advice
