Hard Cold Starting

Featured Replies

Hi, recently bought a partially converted Ford Transit 280 2.4L LWB.

Had it serviced - all filters etc - and the glow plugs replaced but still struggling to get it started of a morning. Once it does kick in it will start again any time through the day but after a long day/night standing it's a nightmare to get going. Also when trying to get it going, it is smoky from the exhaust.

Thanks

MJB

Welcome!
Let me know if this is any use as it may be glow plugs based on the cold temperature issue or not...

Smoky implies poor combustion, does this improve as it warms up (presume you don't have a DPF as that smoke may indicate cracking?)
At least you've had it serviced and changed the fuel filter (my nagging issue for fuel problems)
