Headlight noise.

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I have a whirring noise coming from the nearside headlight when I turn the lights on.

I am sure it is the levelling motor. Can I oil up the levelling motor and if so where is it and what is best to use?

Thanks a lot.

Mike.

None of the Mk6 Fiesta headlights were self-levelling.

If your manual leveling motor is making a constant noise then it's broken.

OK, it only makes the noise when the lights are turned on.

Can you get a replacement motor or will it be a complete new light?

Ford don't sell the motors separately for these. I think you'd have to swap the whole light, but used Mk6 light clusters are cheap and readily available at breakers or on ebay etc.

The plugs should be the same on both sides, so you can swap the existing lights over to confirm that it is a headlight fault rather than a wiring issue before buying a replacement.

Ok, I'll try the swapping first and see how I get on.
