Radiator.

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I have noticed a weeping of coolant coming from this big bolt/plug area. Do I need to replace the bolt/plug or can I seal it with PTFE tape or some other kind of sealant. Or is it something else.

I have loosened the little bolt and pinched the larger bolt/plug up a bit.

All of the hoses and clips are leak free.

Thanks a lot.

Mike.

That's not actually a drain plug, though it's an easy mistake to make. It's just a radiator support, there is an identical one at the other end. The leak must be coming from higher up and just collecting there.

I'll have another good look in a bit. I have checked the vent plug at the top of the radiator, which is on the same side. That didn't seem to be weeping but maybe it is a little bit. I will put some dry tissue around it and then maybe just pinch it a bit.

Thank you for coming back 👍
