Leak in Boot

Featured Replies

I wonder if somebody could help me. I have a leak that I have managed to isolate to a specific area of the boot. However, while I can see where it's coming in on the inside, I can't work out where it's coming from on the outside. A photo might be easier, but on the back wall of the boot, if you pull up the carpet, there is a square hole in each back corner. My issue is the passenger side one. There's an inner layer of metal, then there seems to be a gap of about an inch to the outer metal. And coming down that gap and emerging from the hole is water when there is torrential rain. Does anybody know where on the outside this might be coming from? I have checked the rear lights and they seem to be fairly watertight around the holes for the wingnut and electrics. Thank you!

Evening David55 I had a similar issue with my son's 60 reg fiesta whereas I couldn't find the leak turned out to be leaking from the two sides of the roof mouldings that run along each side the roof, right at the back the mouldings had lifted and there's a small hole that the water runs into and down pass the lights and into the boot, to fix the problem I used black gutter mate, I lifted the mouldings slightly with a small screw driver and put the gutter mate under, silicone will do the job, no problems since, hope this makes sense cheers
