Diesel in filter

Featured Replies

Hi all my first post please be gentle😊Question is please.

I have a 2108 connect crew van I've just bought and has a warning message (water in fuel filter please drain) ,so I got the filter changed as advised but still appears then on numerous occasions drained a bit of fuel from filter (No fix), so bought some Wynns water in fuel additive still zilch although it did work momentarily.Any help would be grately appreciated 🙏👍

Welcome!
I've never had this issue in all my diesel owning experience and, at the moment I don't suspect the actual fuel - unless you know different and always use the same garage and they have known issues?
Therefore, I'd ask where is the water getting in: fuel filler area, filler neck etc?
If the additive worked temporarily, more must be getting in?

Where are the 2108 Connect crew van experts? 😉

They haven't been born yet. 🙂

I can't tell whether there's actually water in the fuel filter or whether this is just a faulty sensor/wiring?

@cannycoop implied that the dewatering additive worked but agree sensor and wiring needs testing i.e. when "fuel" is drained from filter, IS there actually water AND does the warning go away?

Hi all my thoughts at first was water was maybe getting in via the easy fill filler as it hasn't a cap just a silly flap that pushes in (whoes idea was that 🤣)Anyway yes thought it was sorted when added additive but came back my thoughts are wiring so am getting a mobile Wizard to have a look on his iPad thingy to do a diagnostic test and see what it throws up!,I filled up at asda and lads on Facebook forum are saying they have also had probs there but I had a mk1 connect and never a bother also my wife's renault captur whichn is 10 yrs old has ever complained. I'll post the problem tomorrow if I find out.it may help some of the insomniacs get back over 😁
