This is just behind the valve cover on the left side as you look at it (drivers side). No idea what it's connecting. Feel like I'm losing my mind here. There aren't any pins to push in, I can't seem to undo this clip at all. And for bonus points its in the worst possible place to stick your hand. Any help is much appreciated.

    To my untrained/DIY eye it looks like a "EV1 / Jetronic‑style connector"

    Search internet for an image and you'll see... I think pull up the metal wire retainer part (from the top, hidden, side of your pic), with a pick/small screwdriver..

    Hope this helps! (I came here looking for floor mat recommendations.. :-) )
