Hello there and greetings to everyone! I have an Ford Fiesta MK4 1.3 Endura-E engine from 2000. Right now I have an unknown brand battery mounted on my Fiesta but I would like to know how many Amps should my future battery have or even what kind of battery brand I should buy. Thank you for your time and answers!

    Hi,

    Battery tech and quality has changed massively since your car was built. The honest answer is to just fit the biggest battery can get into the battery tray.

    The original battery was most likely Silver Calcium. But they don't make them any more, so you'll just have to buy a normal lead acid battery now. (Not EFB or AGM for an older car like this).

    The capacity varies by engine size, country and the level of spec options on the car so it's impossible to know exactly how many Ah your original battery had. Personally I would recommend a minimum of 60 Ah based on this engine and a normal temp zone without loads of additional electrical options.
