Is The Mk4 Fiesta 1.25 A Dohc ?

Featured Replies

When I took the cam belt cover off a few weeks ago to check the belt was OK and not contaminated by oil or anything, something struck me... It appears to have two camshaft pulleys, so does that mean the 1.25i engine is a Dual Over Head Cam engine ? I always thought it was a SOHC...

Please can somebody clear this up!

If it is a DOHC that would explain why it has a lot of power for only a 1.25 litre engine and why it sounds good under high revs...

Yup 1.25 is zetec se engine which is DOHC

Nice :)

If I was you though, id check the cam belt tensioner too. I have a 1.4 zetec se engine in my mk4 and the tensioner failed without any warning. Bent all 8 inlet valves. Wasnt cheap to sort even though I did the job myself!

How do I check that ?
