Tpms sensor not detected message

Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2016 1.25 Fiesta with the above error message. The cars been to several non Ford garages who said they had reset the sensors and none of them were faulty but i cant seem to get rid of the message. If i reset it using the cars menu it will be fine for a few miles then come back on.I have ordered a gadget from the web that claims to sort the problem but good chance its a scam as its a FB ad.Anyone got any suggestions?

I am having the same problem bought some 100% compatible and they set but came back on and I bought the gadget but it’s still a problem so like you would like advice too

It is most likely that the battery in the TPMS sensor is getting low. When this happens, the sensor can still be detected while the vehicle is stationary, but it may switch off or lose signal once the vehicle is under load or moving.

According to Ford documentation, the TPMS sensors have a life expectancy of approximately 8 years. If these are still the original sensors, I would recommend replacing all four at the same time. If one battery is failing, the others are likely not far behind.

Are you sure that the installed TPMS sensors are actually compatible with the vehicle?
Are they genuine Ford TPMS sensors?

Aftermarket sensors can be hit or miss. I have seen many issues with them, which is why I generally recommend using original Ford TPMS sensors. In many cases, you can find genuine Ford sensors online for prices similar to aftermarket options.

If the TPMS sensors are properly programmed to the vehicle but still do not function correctly, the cause is often incompatibility. It is very possible that the signal being transmitted by the sensors is simply not fully compatible with the vehicle’s system.
