Gear box linkage adjustment on 2012 1.25 fiesta ??

Featured Replies

Hi

We have a 2012 1.25 zetec fiesta.

Getting into 1st & reverse is getting harder.

So far I've -

Removed linkage arm & cleaned/ lubrication.

Changed gear box oil.

Slightly better but no much.

Is there a correct procedure to adjust the 2 x linkage cables ??

Or anyone got any other ideas.

The clutch biting point is quite low , so doubting it's clutch ??.

Car done 102 k.

Thanks guys

Hi,

The correct way to set the cable is to pull out the red box section, then select 4th gear, then push the red box section back in. Only one cable has the adjustment as far as I remember.

Hi

Think it's yellow on ours.

Do you mean loosening the clip on the ridged cable on the gear box & then refit when its in 4th gear ??

Sounds more like a clutch or internal gearbox fault to me
