I have a 21 plate kuga 2.0 deisel ecoblue 42,000 miles. The vehicle has given me major problems since acquiring it. Latest being, I parked vehicle and left it for five minutes, on attempting to restart vehicle it started scrolling through all the warnings and wouldn't start. Waited two hours on breakdown truck, had it taken to Ford dealership. They cant find a fault with it. Previous to this happening the vehicle had been driven for roughly a hundred miles with no warning lights. Dealership suggest new battery, £445 for battery fitted plus £138 for diagnostics. Dealer reports vehicle is now starting and holding a good charge. It troubles me that with no fault being found if I dont replace the battery the same may reoccur. If I pay nearly £600 and do replace the battery the same may reoccur as they are not sure as to how the failure occured. I should add I paid £9,600 for a new engine after turbo failed in October 25. Ford would not assist because of a missing service invoice. Prior to that the DPF was renewed after constant warning lights and trips to dealer. Theres more but I'll stop there.

So what I'd like to ask people is what would you do?

£445 for a 12v battery?

I'm not aware of anything special about the Kuga battery? Should cost around £100 to replace it yourself. If you can get the battery specs then we can confirm a suitable aftermarket equivalent.

Personally I don't have the patience to persevere with problem cars. I just sell them and buy something else. But for the sake of £100 I would try replacing the battery on this one.

Get rid of it.
