Ford Kuga MK2 Front Driveshaft replacement

Featured Replies

Hi all, searched everywhere with no luck, can anyone tell me how easy / difficult it is to change the front driveshafts on a 2017 4X4 180ps Automatic please, will I loose any oil from the box? Do I need any special tools?

Front Left is the first to do desperately, front right soon after.

Any advice / help on what is involved would be much appreciated.

thanks all

Hi,

I cant attach it here due to copyright but I have the Haynes manual which covers this car and your query.

Its rated at 3/5 difficulty.

Looks like as expected, remove hub nut, release suspension, drain oil from gearbox (or catch spillage) unbolt from gearbox.

Hi, thanks, not done it yet but from lack of info around, I ended up buying te haynes manual, I was surprised it called for draining the oil, its only just been done a couple thousand miles ago.

I think the main problem is actually down to the engine mounts, I've replaced the top one, just the bottom left gearbox one to do next then I'll see if still got vibration and knocking issues.

Knocking rattle issues are very tricky.

Once spent a horrendous amount of time trying to locate a rattle on a previous car. Ended up being the rubber stops on top of the suspension struts that had worn.

Good luck!
