question on mk7 to mk7.5 changes or is it facelift, urm

Featured Replies

So was there a mk7 facelift that is separate from being called a mk7.5? 2012 and/or 2015?

In any case, I thought I'd read that as part of the changes, the roof-to-side panels joining strip was changed, to stop the water leak in from the top.

Or did this happen only on the 5-door, or were they always different 3-door to 5-door?

As I've just seen a 3-door 17-plate with what looks like the exact same roof/side joints as my 3-door 2009 mk7.

Confused?

Do you have water in the trunk?

I have a 3-door Fiesta, and the left side of the trunk is always wet when I wash the car or when it rains.

Is this the same problem?

I'll attach a photo when I get home

I've been checking Mk7 & 7.5 rooves since reading this thread. So far all the ones I've seen have the same old roof gutters, regardless of age or doors.

I have seen Mk8 Fiesta and Mk4 Focus without gutter strips. Interestingly the Puma does have gutter strips, despite being largely based on Mk8 Fiesta.

Thanks for your detective work. I'm sure I read they changed the design to stop the roof leak. Maybe the outer roof strip remained the same, regardless of how they joined the panels underneath?

When I bought the car, it was wet in the boot. I found and fixed the issue.

It's possible but I can't remember reading about that particular change before. Hopefully another member might know...
