At no particular speed and without any warning the engine cuts out. All dashboard lights come on and power steering fails, the appearance being as if we are in the second stage of switching on the ignition. This brings the car to a halt and then I am able to start the car again without any problems. I have had the car to a Ford Agent who are unable to find any faults (using the diagnostic check). No longer have any confidence to drive this car on the motorway. Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

    check all your earth points as this can cause electrical failure. also may be worth checking main relay.
