Will This Voltmeter Be Ok For Testing Battery And Alternator

Featured Replies

just wondering if this voltmeter will be suitable for testing my battery and alternator and diagnosing any other electrical systems in the car?

high drasin componenets mate the alternator doesnt give out enough jiuce to cover everything to test you should put headlights on and rear window and take a reading and with high drain stuff on rev the car and watch the readings they should be going up with the revs with all the electrics running the alternator just cant pump enough juice out until you give it some revs as its accepted you would be driving anyway no one tends to just sit idling running everything do another test and check

yeah i need to get someone to rev it. i found the throttle cable but couldn't figure out how to rev it using the cable, it didn't look too aparent when i looked at it.

i remember my old cavalier was just a simple case of pulling it!.

i reckon battery and alternator is running fine from what ive read. i did put quite a heavy load on the alternator at idle.

done a full sequence of stuff to begin with that was posted here (engine off, engine on, headlights on, front/rear window heaters)

all the voltage checked out until full load when it went to 11.5 so im well chuffed :)

prety nifty little voltmeter too and for only £5. ive been using it on a bunch of stuff around the house and even fixed my amplifier :)
