Finding correct part for suspension replacement (ST-Line)

Featured Replies

2017 1.0 140ps ST-Line Red - so mk7.5 I think, just before the mk8 change

It sits awkwardly in the range and parts catalogs as the suspension is slightly lower/sportier than normal and of course isn't "ST" grade.

Just had MOT advisory with rear shock and managed to find bilstein which said it was for ST-Line, so have that on order https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bilstein/13771465 and also managed to find rear springs a while ago.

But is there anywhere with official OE part numbers (or 3rd party replacement) for other parts for the specific car/vin or just for "st-line"

I'm looking at front struts as they will be next, but can't find any specific "st-line" parts which would be needed. Its frustraiting!

I assume the wishbones would be the same between models?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

You can try partsouq for original Ford catalogues. Formatting isn't great though, especially on a phone screen.

You need 'sports tuned suspension' for 1.0 EcoBoost engine. The ST was 1.6 EcoBoost so easy to differentiate.

Thanks, yeah the "ST" is easy to find!

Were there different "sports" suspension on the 1.0 ecoboost, like on "titanium" or something?

Chat gpt has been a bit useless and says the struts may be st-type (55mm over 50mm diameter) but then changes its mind.

7zap is useless!

Will look at partsouq thanks doe the tip

Titanium is comfort spec. That doesn't have sports suspension. There is only one type of sports suspension for 1.0EB.

7zap used to be good but they ruined it by making it chargeable. I tend to use catcar now, but that won't work for your VIN as it's slightly too new. Partsouq is the best option here.

Partsouq is interesting

It suggests

which brings up

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/sachs/7890468

Which seems to match every version which makes it unbelievable. But somewhere to start!

Unfortunately aftermarket parts suppliers often just make one type that physically fits all trim levels as a compromise to save on production costs and warehouse storage space. If you want the exact Ford spec then you'll have to buy the genuine ones.

ffs!

Despite https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bilstein/13771465 saying it fitted the ST-Line it doesn't - the bottom bush is wider!

And seems all local parts suppliers spec one that is "as good as OE" but also fits normal fiestas so not the sporty version. Oh well - managed to get some for £95ea from Ford/ebay genuine OE - and at least I know the part number now!

Interestingly Partsouq (which I didn't know of till told here) also had the correct part number....

Lesson learned!
