Coolant leak close to the battery area.

Featured Replies

My 1.6 ecoboost focus started over heating and lost all it's coolant 200kms after having my clutch, dmf, master and slave cylinder replaced,

I haven't driven it again yet but I looked around for leaks and there seems to be coolant pouring out around the air filter box and the coolant started bubbling after I turned the engine off.

Is there a hose or connector around that area that could've been disconnected? Did the mechanic mess something up?

Car's at 250k kms/ 154k miles

The thermostat housing is on that side of the engine. Remove the engine cover to check around that. It could just be a loose pipe on it, or it could be cracked.

I saw a couple of videos and the thermostat housing is at the coolant bottle side.

The one with the thermostat inside, yes. But there's another one on that side. Technically called a 'coolant manifold' but most people will still call it a thermostat housing.

I currently don't have any tools with me so I can only show it from the top

Turned out to be the coolant "flange" or manifold on the side of the engine block
