Hi, how many miles do you think you can get out of a ford fiesta 2010 1.6 tdci. Mines on 189000 & it's still running just as good as it was when I bought it 11 yrs ago I've changed the belts twice on it & I keep up to date with getting it serviced every 12 months & so far it's doing an excellent job by doing that. I've got a garage that I've been going to since I've been driving & they are really good mechanics & always tell me I've got a really good car & to keep it going as long as I can. I really trust this mechanic as he's a friend also. I've had the car 11 yrs & only had 2 mot failures.

Hi Craig, welcome.

That's very impressive! You might find this thread from few years back of interest:

Over the years, I've found the biggest "car killer" to be rust issues. We've had several threads recently on the topic of rust in early Mk 7 Fiestas, particularly the rear of the sills, so keep an eye out for that.

Hi Eric,

Thanks very much for your quick reply. I've checked the sills after your comment & thers some rust but no where near bad. Thanks Craig

Mine done 249.000 with me until someone drove into it and insurance wrote it off....but found out it's still going on 260.000.

I serviced every 6 months with cheap oil and filters..

Yes, change the oil and filters more often and it will last even longer.

I strongly recommend ARCHOIL 6900 D max additive in the fuel, constantly, too.

This will keep the high pressure fuel pump lubricated and the injectors and seals clean etc, if it does nothing else that is the main benefit

My BMW X2 runs like a dream on it

Keep the underneath clean and deal with rust as soon as you see it

Hi, Thanks for the advice & I will take you up on it & will definitely try that arch oil.

Thanks Craig

Strangly I use archoil 6900d and now swear by it...just a word of warning...don't drop it in your car as it stinks for weeks no mater how much you clean

Hi, I know this is a silly question but do you put the archoil 6900d where you put the fuel in? Also do you put it in on an half tank or quarter of a tank etc. I've never used or heard of it until today

Think it's 1ml to 1 litre and you can adjust by the bottle guage.

If I put 25lt ten 25ml etc but please check first

Will do thanks very much Danny

Agree 1ml per litre.
You'll need the accessory funnel that should be available with the car that would allow you to add fuel from a can if that were necessary.
I just add Archoil after filling up (don't know how much will be needed) and assume it will run into the tank and get mixed in.

Ok that's great thanks everyone for all your help & advice. Appreciate it

I told my Mrs that the fuel pipe thing was a she wee that ford gives free to woman

The Archoil comes with an adapter for filling

It is recommended to put the Archoil in before filling, into the fuel tank, yes, so it mixes better

I'm actually using 2ml per litre at the moment and can tell the difference
