Put a clutch switch in my 2014 ford focus put still won't have one push start have to hold button in to start any ideas l

Both clutch switches? One is for the starter. The other is for cruise control.

Does it tell you to press the brake?

Ok, I'm not sure this is really a fault. Could just be caused by low battery charge. I know they should start from just a quick jab but I always held the button a bit longer as if it was a key in start position.

If it's not just battery charge then you're probably looking at a BCM fault. The button itself isn't smart, that just makes and breaks the circuit. The choice between just ignition or ignition and start is made inside the BCM.
