Mk.2 Mondeo Trip Computer In Mk.5 Fiesta?

I've posted this here, as it covers two Ford models.

I used to have a Mk.2 Mondeo. I retrofitted a Ghia trip computer in place of the standard clock. I fitted the clock back in again before I traded in the Mondeo and bought my new Mk.6 Fiesta. It doesn't have a computer and I miss it, the MPG readings in particular.

So, what are my chances, if I were to connect the speed and fuel flow inputs on the old computer to the relevant wires on the new car, of getting an accurate readout on the computer?

Physically mounting the old computer in the new car's dashboard isn't a problem. I have a spare DIN radio slot and a cunning plan.

PS. Oops! It's a Mk.6 Fiesta. I've edited the post, but can't edit the subject.
