Rear Bumper Mrk 7 Feista

Featured Replies

My mum reversed her fiesta in to my brand new car in the heavy snow yesterday.

we were real lucky it was not to bad.

Damage to min was just a scratch on bumper which i will get chips away to touch up.

her car the bumper popped out and broke the rear reflector.

my question is how easy is it to replace the reflecter and how do you do it.

how does the bumper pop back in.

Steve

Is the the reflector (on the passenger side) or the rear fog light (on the drivers side) that is broken? I replaced the reflector on mine not too long ago, the worst part is getting access to it, ford state you have to remove the bumper but this isn't true, if I remember rightly it was just two bolts that I undid using an allen key, I've got a few pictures of when I was doing it. If you need some more details mate just ask :)

Best Regards

I asked the dealer and they tried to make out like the bumper needs removing and that they wanted a few hours labour costs for it

thanks for that

yes it is the reflector on the passanger side

i will have a look when they weather is better and we get rid of all this snow.

just to confirm i can access this from inside the boot???

should the bumper be able to push back in as it is sticking out now.

will ask more details if i am struggling

cheers

Steve

I guess "boot" is from the interior? If so, I doubt it. From the pics, I can see your wheelwell liner, so almost diffinently you can access it from there. Jack up the car and properly support it, remove the wheel and pop off the clips to remove the wheelwell liner.

I use tools like this to remove clips

but you can do it with a flathead screw driver as well, although chances of breaking the clips are higher. Also, possible you can just reach it from underneath without removing anything.

Bumper is held on by tabs/plastic clips and fasteners. You'll have to inspect the area that popped off to determine how it was held in and if anything actually broke. Can't really say without actually seeing, what needs to be done.
