Help!! Ford Focus Warning Light....

Hi guys, I have a 05 1.8 tdci focus, last week the engine warning light came on, when I start up it's off, but whenever I get to around 2000 revs it comes on and car feels sluggish. It does not want to go over 2000 revs and feels a little like it's running out of diesel?? Any ideas
