Gasket And Cylinder Head

Featured Replies

hey, iv just had a new head gasket and a aluminium cylinder head fitted to my 56 plate fiesta 1.6 tdci zetec s, however the car now seem to be running much slower than it used to, apparently when the car is brand new the cylinder head isnt tightend completely until it goes in for its first service where it is then fully screwed down ? i really have no idea if this is true or not ? but i really dont like how slow the car is atm! so if anyone cud help me out that would be awesome :)

Id be re checking the timing, you shouldnt be down on power.

yeh one of my friends suggested that to me but i didnt realise u can alter the timming, just thought once the timming belt was on it can only run at like one speed, but i will def get it checked seeing two people have now recommended checking the timming, could it damage the engine at all ?

to change the head the timing belt will of been removed and replaced all it takes for it to be 1 tooth out.
