Mk7 Stereo Staying On

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Merry Christmas, hope you are all well.

For some reason my stereo isn't turning off when I turn off the engine and pull out the key. I have to turn stereo off when car is running for it to stay off, when car is locked the center screen is still lit along with the buttons (CD, radio etc). Any ideas? It's never done this before.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has experienced this! About once a month, from about mid last year, my car's stereo plays up. I'll turn the car off (by turning the key back and taking it out) but the radio won't turn off. I click to turn it off and nothing happens. So I put the key in and turn the car on and the stereo turns off. It's so strange. If you exit the car and lock the stereo stays on. If you remove the wires attaching to the car battery and then put them back on, it seems to correct the issue for a few weeks. Not sure why it keeps happening?
