Broken Front Spring

Featured Replies

good evening...

the near side front spring on my sons 1.4TDCI ('02) fiesta has broken...

I'm sure we'll manage to change it ourselves, but if anyone got comments we'd appreciate hearing them?

does anyone know of an on-line source for manuals/diagrams? or links to cheap ford spares suppliers?

thanks

Happy New Year!

Martin

A spring from any local motor factor will do the job no problem. One piece of advice is to go to your ford dealer and purchase a new pinch bolt and nut as on an 02 plate they will more than likely not be fit for use once removed. Youll be looking at around 30 quid for a spring and 2 quid for a pinch bolt and nut

it is also advised to replace springs in pairs - to keep the suspension balanced

Also make sure you clamp the spring before taken it off you don't want fireing off and hitting you.
