Ford Fiesta Leaky Sills ????

Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2004 Fiesta and i have noticed that there is water slooshing around when i brake or make a quick manovere. It is coming from the passenger side of the car. At first i thought it was blocked drain holes in the doors but when i pierced them with a screwdriver no water came out.

It then got me thinking, maybe the water is in at the sills. Is this a common issue for the Fiesta and how do i go about fixing it ???

You might need to clear a little deep like a wire hanger or sommin...jsut a thought, never had the sills break on me before.

Thanks for the reply. I will inspect it further when i get a day off of work. I want to make sure it is definately in the sills before i drill a small hole to allow the water to escape.

Whoa dont be drilling ANY holes lol, id get a garage to take a look first. but quite a bit of silt can build up and the drainage holes at the bottom of teh doors wernt very big.

Thanks for the input guys, i have now sorted out the problem.

It was blocked drainage holes, took the up a hill and broke all the way down it with my dad holding the passenger door open and right enough all the water came !Removed! out. Im so glad it is anything to do with the sills as i know that its a common MOT failure especially on Ka's.
