Sensitive Throttle Pedal?

Featured Replies

On cars I've had before when using a lot of throttle the car has accelerated quickly, however I find on the Fiesta the car will accelerate but not quickly. By using only light throttle preesure the car does accelerate better. I've found this on 3 Fiestas I've driven, anyone else noticed this, or is it somethine I've to get used to

It's a known fact that in the low revs the power is a bit lacking; accelerating from idling starts off laggy but then soon picks up (especially in 1st/2nd). In fact, on my test drive of a demo car accelerating from idle in 2nd with the aircon on was so slow I actually thought I was in 4th by mistake; had to put my hand on the gearstick to check! A second or two later it became obvious though. Bearing in mind this is on my 1.6, the 1.25 will no doubt suffer more. Does it pick up after the revs build (2/3k)?

Cheers Martyn, I just find it strange that on a small throttle it will pull reasonably well from 2k revs, but if I put my foot to the floor at the same revs it doesn't pull as well. Once over 3k it pulls better. Was just wondering if the ECU may need re-mapping?
