Courier Problems

Featured Replies

Hi All, I recently bought a '02 plate Courier van with the 1.8 endura di engine. It has developed a problem where if I accelerate at full throttle the engine will lose all power for a second and then come back for a second and on off on off on off like that and I end up jumping down the road! If I really lightly accelerate it's a bit less severe but it's getting worse. At the same time the engine loses power it chucks out loads of blue smoke from the exhaust and as soon the power returns the smoke goes away.

I've had the EGR valve off and given it a good clean up but no change. I've blanked the EGR valve off and no change. I'm going to get it hooked up to a diagnostic machine on Monday but was just wondering if anyone had any ideas in the meantime.

Cheers

Hi Wavos

maybe faulty throttle position sensor or associated wiring( loose connectors)
