Problem Fitting Rubber Exhaust Mount

Featured Replies

The rubber exhaust holder broke last week on my 2000 focus zetec. I've bought a new standard rubber mount, managed to get it to fit and twist into the square hole in the body, but can't for the life of me get the hole over the peg coming off the exhaust box. It feel slike I'm going to damage the exhaust pipe if I force the exhaust anymore to try to get the stupid peg into hole!!! Need help!!!

(I'm not mechanically minded so any answer no matter how rude is fine)

Is it the lip on the bracket that you are struggling to get the rubber mount over? Ive had trouble with these in the past but have always managed to force them on. maybe a little grease would help it along?
