Ford Fiesta / Fuel Injectors

Featured Replies

ii wonder if anyone can help me

until recently i have been having trouble with my fiesta , there was a strong smell of diesel coming through the vents and when i stopped there was a small amount of white smoke coming from under the bonnet , i took it to my local ford dealer and was told it was a fault with the fuel injector and it was fixed

since then i have driven 100+ miles with no problems but the same problem is occuring although my MPG has increased but 3 , the car seems to run fine just this smell and smoke is worrying me

is this a common problem , its just i dont want to kepp going back & forth to the garage and it costing me money everytime

i dont know if this a common fault on the fiesta, but if its the same injector take it back for starters and get them to re do the job. a diesel fueled car has a very high delivery pressure from the pump to the injector rail and i would be very concerned if i had diesel spraying onto hot engine parts generating white smoke. you need to get this sorted matey. sorry for the negatives!

i remember when i had a problem with the injectors in my old astra cdti, the diesel had poured all over the engine block and because diesel take longer than petrol to burn, it took ages until the white smoke and burning smell went away cos the diesel was still burning away when you were driving. This went on for about a fortnight and i do about 50 miles a day. Hope this helps

I would ask them if they have checked all four injector seals as they are a very very common problem

could be EGR valve or turbo boost pipe, i hear that they are a little bit common ? :)
