Zetec S Software Updates - Any Available?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a October 2010 Zetec S TDCi. There are a few quirks and I am hoping that it will be software updates.

1. Occasionally voice control will just not function. Hold the voice button down on the indicator stalk, and no beep. The AUX button is also unresponsive, although there is a bluetooth connection still.

2. Engine Mapping - A very unrefined engine with terrible economy. I am hoping that they may be a power train update that may have improved this. Considering I had a Zetec last year with the same 1.6TDCi, I would not imagine such a difference in MPG. I have even tried driving like Miss Daisy and can't get more than 52MPG on a run when previously getting mid 60,s in the standard Zetec.

Anyone else had similar, or any kind of improvements after softwrae updates on the Zetec S?

Cheers

Yes I've had my stereo updated and it seems to have fixed that issue (mine was built July 2010)

I'm getting 53mpg average, driving like Miss Daisy will get me 58/59mpg. I believe there is an update available - will speak to my dealer when my 1st service is due (at this rate in next 6/8 weeks!)

Thanks iNath. Im booking it in today so hopefully we'll see some improvement.

Mine was udated as I was struggling to get above 50mg and I had the stereo firmware updated to fix numerous stereo bugs

I might need an update to, on the way ho,e yesterday I got it to 45mpg, and didn't reset it on the refill, and driving like miss daisy it is slowly going down, and has reached 43 in a day. Yes I haven't cleared 1000 miles yet, but it's not giving me the MPG I was hoping, like my titanium wouldn't either!

I wouldn't mind getting in the 40's! Mines averaging around 36 after almost 3k miles. Thats the real figure mind, the car normally says around 39-41.

yeah, first tank gave me 29.95!! just cleared 700 miles!

mind I don't think I'm at 711 yet, so haven't yet cleared it!

Well, the dealer updated the radio software, and I have had no voice control issues yet (it was intermittent). In terms of the MPG, there were no powertrain updates and nothing was found from the diagnostic check. They told me the engine is still just tight.

We'll see how we go.
