Help! Trying To Fit Chip To Mk7 1.4 Tdci

Featured Replies

Hi,

I tried all yesterday to install a performance chip on our MK7 2009 1.4 TDCI. According to the vendor the plug is on the NS end of the fuel rail, but I can't find it anywhere. So far I've removed the air intake ducts, the battery and its box and the fuel filter. I've also got the air filter box loose but it won't come out as it fouls on the windscreen skirt above.

I asked another co. why they don't list the 1.4 TDCI beyond 2008 and they said because the plug is near impossible to reach!

Has anyone done this, or can someone tell me just where the plug is, so I can give it one last go?

Cheers guys,

Iain

Try this thread, it might be a different product, but I think they plug into the same place

Thanks. I've read that and PM'd the guy who's done it before.

But since then I've sent the co. some photos and they said it was the red plug on the N/S just above the gear box. Pig to get at due to various pipes etc but I managed with a mirror, torch and screwdriver. Fitted the harness and blanking plug, but got ECU fault. Tried again with chip in, same. Stripped it all out, back to original, still dead.

Waiting for RAC now

RAC sorted it. Was air in fuel from when I had the filter off whilst searching for the right plug. Supposed to self-bleed but no way. Guy used a can of easy start to get it running and draw the fuel through. SO tomorrow we start again with the harness installation, only this time it'll just be battery and tray plus air inlet ducts (plus mirrors, torch, screwdrivers, knuckle flesh and backache).
