Weak Fuse ?

Featured Replies

When the engine is idling in the 1997 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Ghia (74,000 miles on the clock if that matters), and I close both electric front windows at the same time, the engine goes down from 950RPM, to 550RPM, and almost stalls. However after about 1 second, it goes back up to normal idle.

It is even worse if I press "close" on both electric window buttons when they are already closed.

Am I right in saying this may be a weak electric window fuse taking too much power from the battery causing the engine to almost die ?

Stiff window runners get in there and clean them up and lube them up.

yeah as above...could be a weak battery or your alternator is starting to struggle.

Get it tested for charging and the battery tested too...a lot of places will do this for your for free.

Its not a fuse just to clarify,

Piggy :)
