Booooo Hoooooo!! Dented Car.

Featured Replies

I'm devastated as I found a dent in passenger door last night :(

I just came home from a 4 hour drive and I thought I would just give my car a check as the weather was terrible. The rain had managed to clear all the dirt that had accumulated over the past 2 months  but it also revealed a nasty dent in the passenger door

It looks like someone has hit my car with their door. But I have no idea when it would have happened as I use various car parks every day and my car was absolutely filthy, so it might have been covered for a few weeks.

The dent is probably 2 inches long and looks more like a crease. It hasn't removed any paint, but it's noticeable if you look along the body of the car in the light. Does anyone know if this can be removed and the likely cost? I'm not sure if I should go to the main dealer, as I have a service next week, or find some dent specialist?

It's probably not that big, but I've been so careful for a whole year and always go out of my way to make sure I park somewhere with no cars close by. Also, my car is a lease car, so I need to get it fixed or else the leasing company will charge me an extortionate amount to fix it.

Try these people. Very good. Very efficient. Very competitive. I used them to take out a small dent on my last Citroen.

It cost me £40 for my dent taking out, not perfect but a lot better than it was

Thanks guys, Dings & Dents look good so I will see what they quote. £40 sounds reasonable though. I was expecting it to be about £100-£200!

I think if it would have been that much i would have honestly died! The guy i used is from Doncaster so i doubt very much he would come to Bristol.

It's not 100% perfect as it was on the lip next to the door handle, he was scared of pushing it too far incase he cracked the paint.

They have a Ding & Dents in Bristol, so I'm going to give them a call as soon as I get the time. My car goes into a service next week, so I may just ask the garage to give me a quote and if it's under £100 then I will just let them do it.

I can't stop staring at the dent though, makes me want to cry :(

Sorry to hear about this, I know how you feel because mine was dented at 7 months old - this happened at the petrol station when I picked up the petrol nozzle to refuel - & the adjacent diesel nozzle fell off the pump (obviously hadn't been put back properly by the previous user!), whacking into my back n/s wing causing a shallow but wide dent.

After a number of fruitless attempts to contact a local "dentmaster" who had been recommended to me I visited my local dealer, Lookers of Sheffield, for some advice. They were really helpful (despite not having supplied the car) & as they have a "dent man" who visits their stock each week they offered to ask him to sort it out for me at their "trade" rate. This was carried out a couple of days later (dent was pushed out from behind, no paint damage at all) for £30 & he made a brilliant job - even though the car's black, I can't tell that it's been repaired.

Good luck with yours!
