Bad Back Anyone?

Featured Replies

Is/Has anyone experienced a bad back with the fiesta? I know that I am at the slowly falling to bits stage of my life (although still run rings around these youngsters at footie each week!) but since having the car I have had a really bad lower back. Last week I placed a support in the seat and bingo, back problems gone! these seats don't seem to have a good lumber support in my opinion.

try adjusting the angle and height of the seat, it may take awhile to get used to a different View perspective but it should support your lower/mid back alot better

Ah glad its not me!!! I came from my Focus ST, and within 2 weeks lower back started hurting. Adjusting the seat as Rogue suggested does work. I need to adjust mine again because my backs starting to hurt again. Either that or I need a new mattress on my bed lol

I get this sometimes when driving for long periods, I always though its because I slouch when driving :P

You will find that bad backs come more with age :(

Strange thing is when I first got my Fiesta after driving an Accent I found that my arms ached for the first couple of weeks of driving even though I adjusted the steering wheel to a comfortable position. Been fine since then though :D

Maybe you have your seat too far back so you have to reach for the pedals? Surprising how your leg muscles can affect your back & vice-versa.

As previously suggested, try adjusting the seat angle & height.

From someone with a long history of back issues, I totally agree with you.

It was my intentions top buy a 5dr but found the seat rather uncomfortable - it only took a few minutes on the test drive for aches to start. Ended up buying the Zetec S I saw in the showroom for no other reason than the seat. The issue I found wasn't with the backrest but the base, the Zetec S having a considerably longer base than the std car. The more support your legs have whilst sitting down, the less the strain on your spine.

I've had the Zetec S for six months and 3000 miles - never had an issue with my back. (plenty of loose fillings tho with that hard suspension :D)
