Buckled Alloy?

Featured Replies

Driving home last night i hit an unavoidable pothole. It's the first time i've had a damaged alloy so i'm not sure on the severity of it. If you could observe and advise it would be much appreciated.

i had ( and still have ) identical problem, just a couple days ago scratched one of my alloys ( fiesta zetec s 2010 street pack) ... just looked online... and will cost me 40-80GBP to refurbish.

im no expert but you either going to have to pay to have it fixed or a new alloy.

Damage to alloys increase risks when driving i.e. Blow outs...

Correct me if im wrong

I was quoted £70 minimum online, but i found LSN Coatings in Castleford, West Yorkshire. They will refurbish your alloys and spray them any colour for £30 for 16" or £35 for 17" per alloy. Try ringing around, dont just look online.

Looks bad :/ is your driving affected?

Not that i've noticed.

Is it a new alloy job or would a refurb sort it?

Wow. Even on my phone screen I can see that is a fairly nasty buckle. Are you sure the price you have been quoted is to sort out the buckle and not just the kerb marks on the alIoy ? I would probably look into getting a new alloy. Someone posted a link with the prices in one of the other buckled wheel threads.

I need to replace one of my alloys (16', 7spoke) so I phoned ford today and they quoted my for 180 pounds. I can get for 135 off ebay + fitting costs (saving around 30 quid). Thats expensive and im thinking about getting new set, selling other 3 to get some money back and maybe buckled alloy will not happen to me again. What do you think? Does anyone recommend any good alloys as a replacement? Cheers guys
