Fitting Aftermarket Seats - Will I Get Warning Lights On Dash?

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon All

I'm planning on fitting some aftermarket seats to my mk7 Fiesta within the next few weeks, what I wanted to ask is when I take out the factory seats, will I get any kind of warning lights appearing on my dash? I have noticed that the factory seats have some kind of small plug attached to them on the underneath of the base frame, I wasn't sure what this is for. I'm assuming its for the seat belt warning bleep, also I dont think my seat has airbags - do Fiesta seats come with airbags? I own a mk7 2009 Fiesta 1.6 Titanium, I haven't noticed any plastic trims on the seat to give the impression that airbags are contained.

Any advice will be appreciated.

P.S. I'm installing a set of Recaro Sport Topline seats, once they're in I will upload a few pics.

Thank you

Airbag wiring is easily identified by having yellow connectors and sheath.

Additional seat wiring for the SRS includes seatbelt pretensioners and you can identify these by a cylinder attached to the base of the seatbelt clip.
