Fiesta Zetec Suspension

Featured Replies

Hi

I've just bought a 2006 fiesta 1.4 TDCI zetec. I'm surprised to find that the suspension is really harsh - I can feel every bump in the road, even the the slightest rough road causes a really harsh ride and on bumpy roads its a total nightmare, having to reduce the speed right down to stop it from bouncing all over the place. There was also a fairly severe vibration through the steering wheel travelling above 50mph - I got the wheels balanced today but not been able to try it out at speed yet.

Is the harsh suspension normal?

Sounds strange for a run of the mill Fiesta.

Has the car been lowered or had some kind of aftermarket spring or shock absorber fitted perhaps?

yeah, also what are your tyre size?

I think the tyres are 15" - it has 5 spoke alloys on it. I never paid much attention to the tyre size and I don't think it had been lowered or anything, I'll have a look.
