Stereo Unit Removal

Hi

I bought my Smax Zetec two weeks ago. The CD unit has two phone buttons on and the only funtion is to mute the radio.

I have bought a upgraded unit but i cannot see how my old one comes out

Any help would be appriciated

I may be wrong but i dont think there is a tool you have to remove the silver front(not sure how) then there are four bolts holding the unit in ( i read this on another site so not sure if its correct)

Did you manage to get the unit out?

the 6000 and the 6006 are a real pain to remove.

You do need 4 "keys" as you might have already found out.

I changed my 6006 to a Sony 6-stack in my 1st S-Max.

No need to remove any trim to do this.

I have a 2010 and did the radio myself quite easy the carbon fiber trim on dash comes off then remove 4 bolts that hold the radio in then just slide it out disconnect cables and plugs replace stereo
