Resinating dashboard noise

Featured Replies

Hi there.New to this forum . I need some advise. I have an 07 plate fiesta Zetec s TDCI 1.6. Its suffered terribly from a loud resinating nosie from behind the dashboard...getting increasingly louder buy the day. Ford dealers cannot sort it out and i am getting fed up with it to say the least. Has been in the garage now 9 times for this problem. It sounds like it is coming from the centre of the dashboard .....Is anybody aware of this or had similar things ? Any info so i could try and sort it would be great. Other than that the car is great, had it chipped..certainly an improvement but maybe not the 130 bhp as stated. overall a good little car . :(

does it resinate when idling and stood still?

its probably some part of the wiring loom vibrating against something.

did it do it before it was chipped?

Hi there, thanks for the reply . Yeah the niose was there a month into having the car. I have had the car since new . Had the car nearly a year before it was chipped.hmmmm yeah makes sense actually re the wiring loom . Somebody said it could be air con pipes . Its definately a hard plastic noise vibrating against something ???????? its driving me mad !!

Going off on another direction shortly............... have you seen the 2009 FOCUS RS !!!!!!!

Looks the business, might trade the old smoker in for one hahahaha

Cheers

had it on a mondeo once turned out to be the gear stick surround which travelled up to the dash.

Try opening the bonnet and looking under the brake servo unit under the driver side of the screen, there's a resess in the bodywork that often catches leaves blown in and when these are dry you end up with an irritating sort of scratchy/ticking noise when your travelling at speed! ( annoyed me for months till i found out what it was! )

Shreky, Did you manage to get that rattling sorted? I have it on my Zetec S now!
