Creak From Steering When Applying Full Right Lock

Hi all,

I have a 7 months old Fiesta Titanium. When I place the steering on full lock as driving slowly (e.g. turning a corner in a car park) a 'creaking' type of sound comes from the steering (sounds like the motors). However this does not occur when turning left.

I reported this to my local dealer who said they found a known fault, however after the 'fix' the noise remains.

I am taking it back in tomorrow but wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

    Hi Geoff,

    My wife drives Fiesta 1.4 Zetec (petrol). We bought it new in February 2011. It currently has 800mi on. My wife reported to me that she heard some sort of a hissing noise during a turn one day. I was not able to replicate it and dismissed it. It happened around 500mi (1 mo ago). And it never happened again (touch wood).

    I get the same noise, usually right lock aswell. They applied a fix when I had it serviced last month however mine still exists too!
